The Administrator tool of Extenprise enables users to define Users, Services, applications and entities that will form part of the eco-system.
Administrator lets a user:
- Select and define a Database to administer. The information about the DB is stored
and retrieved from an XML.
- Define the Company’s’ user DB schema (one-time activity). The schema can be
saved in an XML to be used later.
- Create DDL scripts.
- Design the tables and commit them to the DB directly.
- Administer the User DB Records. Provides a table and form view of the records
(MS-Access style)
This module offers following functionalities :
- Ability to define a set of permissions in the system
- Ability to define Groups of users in the system
- Ability to assign permissions to the roles and groups. So, when the user is assigned
a Role and is a part of a Group, he/she automatically inherits the permissions of
that particular Role and that particular Group. A user can also see a union
(processed-set) of the permissions for the user in addition to the whole set of
permissions he/she has. It also lets administrator over-ride (add /negate) certain
permissions on individual user –basis. This again is reflected and shown in the
permission set of that user.
- For simple setup, administrator can simply defining a Role/Group to be ‘Default’, so
when a new user is added to the system, he/she simply is assigned this Default
permission set
